Trevor McKay is the Lead Drummer of the Grade 2 Rocky Mountain Pipe Band, and has quickly established himself as respected bandsman and leader on the Western Canadian scene.
Under Trevor’s leadership, RMPB drumming prizes include the North American Championship (2017) (including best overall drum corps in Grade 2), the BC Indoor Gathering (2017, 2018), The Mid-America Championships (2018), consecutive Alberta Provincial Championships (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) and two Northern Canadian Championships (2015, 2017) as well as many other local top prizes.
Originally from Maxville, Ontario, Trevor spent his formative years with the Glengarry Pipe Band, and was a key member of the organization during some of the band’s most successful times on the competitive Ontario circuit. Highlights include winning a North American Championship drum corps title as well as a second prize at the World Pipe Band Championships in Grade 2.
Trevor has also previously played with the 78th Highlanders (Halifax) and the Ottawa Police pipe bands, both successful Grade 1 organizations.
Trevor brings a wealth of leadership and musical ability to the corps, and the band is very lucky to have him at the helm of the drum corps.
By day, Trevor works as an Accountant in downtown Calgary.
